Every single member of the family can participate in the Musselman Triathlon Weekend. After the mini-Mussel and the Musselman in the morning, join us for the MusselKids race in the afternoon! The race will be held completely in the confines of Seneca Lake State Park, and will offer a taste of triathlon to aspiring athletes aged 7 to 14.

MusselKids 2008 is presented by the American Postal Workers Union in Syracuse, NY. What do postal workers do when they're not battling rain, snow, wind, and hail to bring your mail? They're setting up the park, stocking aid stations, volunteering at the finish line, and overseeing parking detail at 4 am. Simply put, the Musselman would not happen without the selfless, tireless postmen and women of Central New York.

• WHEN: same day as the Musselman! Sunday, July 13, 2008, at 2:30 pm

• WHERE: Seneca Lake State Park [interactive course map]

• WHO: junior (age 7-10) and senior (age 11-14) divisions.

• DISTANCES: ages 7-10: 50 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 1/4 mile run
  ages 11-14: 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1/2 mile run

• DETAILS: registration is $20 and includes swim cap, t-shirt (youth sizes!), finisher keepsake, and post-race eatums. All participants must be annual members of USA Triathlon to compete. Annual youth memberships cost $5, are valid for one year, and are available at www.usatriathlon.org. Annual memberships will also be available for purchase at the race.
