The Boys & Girls Club of Geneva
The Boys & Girls Club changes lives daily. Children from bilingual homes are taught to read and inadvertently fall in love with reading. Students who lacked the motivation to complete homework assignments are convinced that studying is "cool" and become honor students. Last year alone membership at the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva doubled, meaning more children are reaping the benefits of this nuturing environment. As an event with the potential to become nationally recognized and internationally attended, the Musselman seeks to focus public attention on these positive changes and to use event proceeds to support and expand programming opportunities.
Since 2004 the Musselman has donated $38,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva.

In addition, a teacher at North St. Elementary, Dave Soule, annually trains a group of students throughout the spring and summer to complete their first triathlon at MusselKids and the mini-Mussel. Learn more about Team Mussel and how they're beating the street through triathlon.

In 2007 the Musselman donated $1,000 to the Benches Project, which placed park benches along the walking path in Lakefront Park. The project was organized by Jan Regan's father, and the Musselman bench was placed at Puerto Rican Point in honor of the first members of Team Mussel.

As part of our mission to support the youth of this community, we have once again pledged a donation in 2008. We hope the Mussel and the B&G Clubs share a long and positive relationship.
