Frazz creator Jef Mallett returns to Musselman |
In 2006, the Musselman was proud to host Jef Mallett, the man behind the Frazz comic strip currently published in over 160 newspapers in the U.S. and Canada. Jef was not only a gracious and speedy competitor in the half-iron race, he generously put his talents to work in designing the official race shirt that year. Additionally, he put the Musselman logo on a t-shirt worn by Frazz himself in the strip that ran the week before the event.
We are thrilled to welcome Jef back to the Musselman in 2010. This year Jef published his first book, "Trizophrenia: Inside the Minds of a Triathlete," which is receiving high praise from athletes and non-athletes alike. We will host a book-signing at the Musselman, and Jef will bring some extra copies for participants to take home.
Jef writes a regular column for Inside Triathlon and Triathlete magazines and is a contributing artist for VeloNews magazine. He has been racing triathlon on and off since the early '80s, alternating between triathlon and bike racing. Jef was recently interviewed by Slowtwitch.com and had some interesting things to say about the creative process, triathlon, and the sport's intersection with his work.
